Breakout Sessions

Garlic, Hawthorn, and Eye of Newt:  The Way of the Peaceful Empath

We’re empaths and shamans, baby, and we feel our clients’ feeling in our own bodies. It’s a gift. Sometimes, though, being an empath feels like our blood is being sucked out of our necks, or we’re flung smack dab in the middle of a blind spot.  We can feel drained and miss great opportunities for deeper coaching.  In this session, Master Coach Terry DeMeo will open her bag of shamanic practices and practical tools to teach you exactly how to manage, strengthen and protect your empathic powers.  You’ll leave with a practical toolkit that will turn you into a supercharged shaman who never loses a single drop of blood, sweat, or tears.

Terry DeMeo, J.D., is a Master Certified Relationship Coach, writer, and educator who guides coaches and other smart people to create joy, success, and deep satisfaction in their relationships with themselves, the people in their lives, and their work.  She combines cutting edge discoveries from social science and neuroscience with ancient wisdom practices and a little bit of magic.   She works with individuals, couples, and groups in person in Miami, and by telephone, worldwide.  You can learn more about Terry, check out her upcoming classes, and read her blog at www.terrydemeo.com.  She can be reached by email at terry@terrydemeo.com.

Visualization & Graphic Coaching Practicum

Practice the art of coaching and take your knowledge of Martha’s tools and the use of visualization, metaphors and intuition to a whole new level.  Combine interactive graphic coaching with guided visualization and you take you (and your clients) to a vision of your future self that you otherwise might have never seen. You don’t have to be an artist, or even know how to draw.  If you have a love for colored pens and sticky notes, you’ll fit right in!

Master Coach Jennifer Voss is the Chief Truth & Well-being Officer and founder of the Truth Experience. She helps others find their Ground Truth and free their energy to hear and follow their calling. Before becoming a coach, she earned an MBA and spent 20+ years in various business ventures – ranging from owning an independent bookstore to holding an executive role within a national distribution company. She loves using her past experience to help others connect with the heart and soul of their business.  Her favorite part is nailing down a vision, mixing in a little  ”woo,” and watching a dream come to life in a whole, healthy and sustainable manner.

Death and Dying: Grief and Loss Tools for Coaches

Your client called to say her husband died. How can you help? Need new resources and tools? This is a “Grief 101″ class on steroids AND RedBull. You will find and engage your inner grief guru, learn magical expressive arts tools by doing them, laugh at bad jokes, and leave with vast amounts of added knowledge. The best part? When the next grieving client calls, you’ll be ready.

Martha Atkins loves Dr. Pepper, and Boxer Dogs. Family (chosen/not), spontaneous travel, storied photographs, and authentic conversations feed her. Mysteries of Spirit inspire. She’s traveled the dark night of the soul and much prefers the light. She’s an out of the closet healer and intends to someday have tea with Rosie O’Donnell.

Be the Change You Want to See in Your Life: Working with Adult Children to Change How They Are

Many of my clients spent much of their childhood feeling and acting very responsible and reliable – like miniature adults.  And, although they are still responsible and reliable as adults, they now often feel childlike; small and vulnerable, anxious and exposed.  Adult children tend to feel voiceless and choiceless and they frequently struggle to have healthy relationships with their work, their partners, and/or their friends and family. If this describes you/your clients, you/they are the adult children for whom I have written my book “Life Lessons for the Adult Child”. This session will refer to many of the tools and techniques I have written about in the book, tools that deal with communication, codependence and choices. This work is life-changing and will help you to help your clients understand WHO and HOW they are in their relationships – with themselves, others and the world. It will also help you to understand how being an adult child may influence your work as a coach.

Judy Klipin works with adult children to help them understand how their unpredictable childhoods have resulted in their adult anxiety and struggles with relationships, work and/or life purpose. She trains coaches to use her methods (from her book Life Lessons for the Adult Child; Penguin) in their own practices.

So Many Ideas, Plenty of Time: How to Thrive Without Finishing (or Focusing or Committing)

Do you or your clients feel like you’re constantly finding new and interesting things to try, have too many choices, working on too many things at once and never accomplishing anything?  Then you just might be what career counselor and best-selling author Barbara Sher has defined as a “Scanner”.  And guess what? There’s nothing wrong with you! Being a Scanner is not about fear or A.D.D. Unlike people who seem to find and be satisfied with one area of interest, you’re genetically wired to be interested in many things.  Join Sheila Whittington and learn how to embrace your Scanner-dom and learn tools to help you make progress in the areas you choose. There is hope for a happy and productive life – for you and your clients!

Sheila Whittington is a coach, teacher, speaker, funster, writer, wife, mother, laugh-lover and uber-experienced coffee consumer. Sheila worked 30 years in corporate America before giving up the “Have to Be Super Woman” cape for flip-flops and now lives the message she teaches: “Life is easier than we think.”

Growing Your Tribe: Deliberately Creating Clients

Join Law of Attraction Coach, Jeannette Maw, on how to create a full and thriving practice by growing your tribe from scratch.  You’ll learn what it takes to attract and cultivate raving fans who love your material, buy your stuff and spread the word about your fabulousness.  We’ll cover the essential energy work as well as practical action steps you can take to build an audience that will build you a lucrative living as a coach.

Bridgette Boudreau believes that helping her clients uncover their Truth without sugar-coating is the best possible thing she can do as a coach. She believes that there’s nothing wrong with you, the work she does with clients is about finding their deep rightness, not battling with their wrongness. She’s been a Martha Beck Life Coach Training instructor for three years, served as Training Coordinator, and currently runs the Master Coach training program. She’s also CEO of Martha Beck Inc. In her spare time, She is trying to life-coach her dog Scruffy into barking less. The problem is, Scruffy doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with her. Damn, she’s right again.

Shake It Out, Baby! Release Deeply Held Physical Tension and Trauma with TRE

TRE (Trauma Releasing Exercises) consists of a series of simple physical exercises, designed by Dr. David Berceli,  to invite gentle trembling that originates in the body’s core and travels along the spine, eventually reverberating organically throughout the entire body. Inviting the body to direct its own release in this safe and emotionally neutral way can release stored up stress, anxiety, trauma and the physical and emotional pain they cause.  This practice will, in effect, help you to forge a deeper connection with your own sweet Body.

Living in the Middle East, Susan Bainter Baghdadi is often asked what religion I “belong” to.  Most recently, in response to that question, “ I am kind of a Taoist Sufi Witch” popped out of her mouth without first checking with the filter committee! For now, the title fits well:  She aspires to surf the Way in community with Love as our map, honoring and taking cues from Body, Earth & Her denizens and the Cosmos Her recent practices include TRE (Trauma Releasing Excercises), Equus Coaching, Acro yoga and the collaborative, co-creative process of the Art of Hosting and Harvesting Meaningful Conversations. She loves working/playing collaboratively with others in groups.

Authentic Coaching with your Original Medicine

True coaching leadership and savvy does not just come from the techniques and methodologies that you use. Perfect execution of coaching tools without an authentic connection to your “Original Medicine,” is merely a shadow of what you are capable of and your clients know it. In this break-out session, Master Coaches Michael Trotta, Lori Race, and Sue Robertson will share the secrets of our native ancestors and help guide you toward your authentic medicine power.

Michael Trotta is a professional storyteller, learning specialist, mentor and artist with more than 15 years experience creating sacred space for people to build powerful connections to self, earth, others and the ancestral wisdom to which we all belong.

Susan Dahl-Robertson’s Susan’s passion is helping her clients uncover their unique gifts, strengths, passion and purpose and expressing their brilliance in the world.  She loves leading small coaching groups called BE Circles, teaching classes and individual coaching.  With a Master’s Degree in Career Development and over 10 years combined experience career coaching, counseling and recruiting, Susan also specializes in helping her clients create amazing careers that fit who they are and what they love.

Woo Discovery: Woo as a Way of Life

Ready to woo-ify your life? Join Abigail Steidley, Koelle Simpson, Jeannette Maw, and Andy Newman for the integration track that will have you blissfully enjoying your unique spiritual path while also picking up your magic wand and making regular life easier. Feeling a little nervous about diving fully into “The Woo?” You are not alone.  Many coaches worry that if they allow themselves to explore this world, friends and family will view them as though they’ve gone off the deep end and literally grown a third eye. In this track we’ll show you how to integrate spiritual practices into your life so you can live joyfully in two worlds at one time and still connect and relate easily to those around you.  You’ll be glad to know you don’t have to give up whatever you love about “regular” life to enjoy and benefit from spiritual, magical living. You don’t have to be over-the-top woo all the time, nor do you have to completely reject spiritual growth. Rather, you can strike the perfect personal balance that works in your life. You can make daily life easier and at the same time ground your life in spiritual meaning. You can use your logical mind to steer you safely through spiritual exploration. We really will be teaching you how to integrate in this integration track! You’ll explore the woo world, but you’ll leave with a clear sense of what is right for you.

Abigail Steidley

I am a Martha Beck Master Coach specializing in mind-body connection tools and concepts that facilitate physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. My first intro to the woo world happened while I was searching for relief from chronic pain syndromes. I ended up lying on a massage table and practicing low-belly breathing while a breathwork practitioner conveyed messages from my spirit guides. In that moment, I wasn’t sure if I was crazy or onto something. It took several years before I was able to trust and believe in the woo side of life, and a few more before I felt confident walking in two worlds at once. I didn’t want to lose my practical, normal-life savvy or become too “out there.” In the end, I discovered the joy of using magic to make my practical life work more smoothly, and being practical as I delved into magic. Though I love the visceral sense of connection and deep spiritual joy I experience now, I’m equally appreciative of the way my woo life helps me in a very practical sense every single day. I’m eager to help others strike this balance in their own spiritual and practical lives.

Koelle Simpson

My name is Koelle Simpson and I’m a Martha Beck master coach and most people often refer to me as a horse whisperer.  I was lucky enough to grow up around some pretty remarkable four legged teachers that truly changed the way I view life.

My mind is extremely skeptical by nature. I want know the reason why behind everything.  I want the proof. I want the science.  I want it all to make sense and fit together.  My heart on the other hand has the curiosity of a child, deeply spiritual, aware, trusting and at one with nature.

Luckily learning directly from a horse has help me merge the two and opened my mind to the truly magical world we live in. Little did I know at the time, horses have been known in many cultures as the animal who can guide us with ease between the worlds of physical reality and the realm of the spirit.

Coming to understand the world of energy, spirit and the practical effect all of this has on our everyday communication, has changed my life for ever. This new perspective has taken me on an exceptional journey from the Oprah Winfrey Network series “Finding Sarah” to teaching and sharing the experience first hand with leaders, corporations, and everyday people around the world from South Africa, Europe, UAE, Canada, and all throughout the United States.

Jeannette Maw

I grew up as the epitome of the anti-woo, raised by an atheist father who sent me off to college with the instruction: “Don’t be so open-minded your brain falls out.”

But life’s answers didn’t show up for me in the classrooms or the textbooks or the churches.  The answers came when practicing the very stuff dear old dad cautioned against.  Not sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll (although that was fun, too!), but channeling and energy work and spiritual connections and harnessing the power of thought, etc.

In my heart of hearts I wanted to marry up the woo with the real world – to show everyone there’s nothing to be afraid of here; only everything to be gained.  That’s the inspiration behind my work (Good Vibe University, Good Vibe Blog, Law of Attraction for the Real World, etc.) and it’s my pleasure to invite you into the practicalities and the science of real world woo that can benefit everyone!

Andy Newman

Hi Everyone.  I am Andy Newman and I wasn’t cut out for one career.  I love having multiple activities and tying them together in a way that feels magical.  It wasn’t always like this for me. Up until age 35 I was a driven Wall Street banker concerned with rankings and making money.  I was increasingly bored and felt my job had little meaning.   I soon discovered that all my progress was focused on external attachments.  Today I still help people manage money in a shackles off environment (outside of Wall Street) where we can do lot more.  By accepting magic I have discovered that failures are really a success in disguise, an opportunity to face and dissolve fear.   Magic has allowed me to see how everything in my world is connected.  My message is that Communism is dead; Capitalism suffered a massive heart attack and is still comatose.  The new order for those who wake up and shift their consciousness is the Economy of Magic.  My coaching is about helping people peel off the unessential – the labels, the isms, to discover their deep inner awareness and their gift.  That ‘s the first trick.  Next you enter dreaming, imagining, connecting and collaborating with the world through love and empathy.  Once you have the spark, you focus on Oneness – the real You doing one thing:  living your mission, sharing your gift, again, again, and again.

Woo Woo:  Stepping into Your Gifts

This is an experiential class for those who have had a spiritual awakening, are already using their healing gifts, and desire to further integrate and expand them. Martha Atkins, Indrani Goradia, Debbie Louthan, Dave Munsterman, and Renee Sievert will lead you through a process where each experience builds on the next, opening space for stronger, clearer Divine connections. On Saturday you will learn a series of grounding exercises for different healing situations + a healing technique to identify and release energetic blocks in the chakras. These experiences will set the space on Sunday for an integration/blessing ceremony with your healing team, those from the otherside who are ready to help you further your work as as a coach/shaman/healer in this world.

Indrani Goradia is the Founder of Indrani’s Light Foundation, a non-profit organization created to Inspire, Educate, Mentor, Teach all Aspiring Women. She is also an international keynote speaker, author of The Indrani Principle: Inhale Life, Exhale Joy, and has received rave reviews for her work in coaching, yoga and intuition.

Debbie Louthan is brave, authentic, and loving. She loves dolphins, horses, water she can jump in, out of the box thinking, luxurious fabrics, and nutella. And when she sings, she feels an exhilarating connection with her guides, and a powerful sense that a space is being held for healing.

Dave Munsterman works with Spirit Guides, Angels and Ascended Masters to reveal and heal energetic and emotional blocks that interfere with his clients living their best lives. On this plane Dave receives daily inspiration from his beautiful wife, children, a black poodle named “Oprah” and “Ellen”, the dancing Chihuahua.

Author, Equus Coach, and Master Life Coach Renee Sievert’s education and experience is grounded in brain science and medical research, but she has been empathic and intuitive since childhood.  Her clients are managers, helping professionals and healers who want to discover their truth and change the world.  Renee has found that her favorite co-facilitators of change are horses!
